A member of the Jan Suraaj party has been tragically killed during an election campaign in the Mokama area of Bihar’s Patna district. The incident occurred on Thursday when the victim, identified as Dularchand Yadav, was allegedly shot dead inside his vehicle amidst reported firing between two groups.
The state is currently in the midst of its assembly elections, with polling scheduled for November 6 and 11, and results expected on November 14. Authorities have not yet identified the individuals responsible for the attack.
Abhishek Singh, the Sub-divisional Police Officer for Barh-2, stated that police received information about two convoys crossing each other, leading to a firing incident over an unspecified issue, with attempts also made to run over individuals. An First Information Report (FIR) is being registered, and a thorough investigation is underway to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure further action.
