This Diwali, the city of Jaipur is making waves with an extraordinary sweet creation that has captured national attention. Introducing ‘Swarn Prasadam,’ an exceptionally luxurious and expensive sweet that sets a new benchmark for festive treats in India, priced at an astounding ₹1.11 lakh per kilogram.
Meaning ‘a devotional offering made of gold,’ Swarn Prasadam is a masterpiece crafted in Jaipur, Rajasthan, featuring edible 24-carat pure gold. Beyond its premium appeal, this unique sweet is also being promoted for its potential health benefits, blending Ayurvedic principles with precious metals.
The visual presentation of this elite sweet is as lavish as its price tag. Served in exquisite cups, it’s glazed with pure gold, topped with a delicate silver foil, saffron strands, chopped almonds, pine nuts, and other premium dry fruits.
This isn’t the first time Jaipur has introduced a high-end sweet for Diwali. Last year, ‘Swarn Bhasam Pak,’ prepared using the fine ashes of gold and silver, was hailed as India’s most expensive and healthiest sweet. Priced at ₹70,000 per kilogram, it was also adorned with gold foil, imported almonds, and saffron, and packaged in jewellery-style boxes.
As the city gears up for the festival of lights, Rajasthan’s temples are set for special decorations and cultural events as part of the ‘Panch Parv Diwali’ celebrations. The state’s chief minister has also emphasized elaborate lighting and beautification of public spaces, alongside festive programs in temples across Rajasthan.
