A significant search operation has been initiated by security forces in a heavily forested nursery near the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. The operation, which commenced around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, sees a combined effort from the local police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and the CRPF.
Teams are meticulously sweeping through the Dholka-Sanyal nursery area, a suspected infiltration route, as the operation continues. This location is particularly sensitive; in March, security forces engaged a group of heavily-armed terrorists who had infiltrated from across the border through this very nursery. That intense, prolonged encounter culminated in the elimination of three militants affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit in a nearby area en route to Billawar, though it tragically resulted in the loss of four police personnel.
