On Thursday morning, October 23, 2025, a ferocious Level-III fire erupted at the JNS Business Center in Mumbai. This 13-story glass-facade commercial building, situated on S.V. Road near Gandhi School in Behrampada, Jogeshwari (West), quickly became the scene of a major emergency. The blaze was first reported around 10:51 a.m. and rapidly escalated from an initial Level-II classification.
Officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) confirmed the rapid intensification of the fire. What began as a Level-I incident at 10:46 a.m. quickly climbed to Level-II by 10:48 a.m., reaching a critical Level-III status just six minutes later at 10:54 a.m.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing massive flames engulfing the upper floors, from the 9th to the 12th. Brave firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus (BA) sets, immediately launched into action, focusing on critical rescue and ventilation operations to help those caught within the burning structure.
A significant contingent of emergency services was deployed to tackle the inferno. This included nine fire engines, a fire tender, a major water tanker, a quick response vehicle, one SCBA unit, seven jumbo tankers, two additional water tankers, two aerial ladder platforms, two turntable ladders, two hose platforms, a dedicated control post, and a 108 ambulance. Senior leadership from the Mumbai Fire Brigade was also on-site, including the Chief Fire Officer (CFO), two Deputy CFOs, three Divisional Fire Officers (DFOs), four Assistant Divisional Fire Officers (ADFOS), two Senior Station Officers (Sr. SOs), and ten Station Officers (SOs), all coordinating the complex operation.
Fortunately, as of the 11:50 a.m. update, there have been no reports of injuries. Firefighting and cooling efforts are actively continuing as authorities work to bring the situation under control.
