A distressing incident unfolded in Indore on Wednesday night, where 25 individuals belonging to the transgender community were admitted to the Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital after they claimed to have consumed phenyl together. While preliminary reports indicate that none of the patients are in critical condition, the exact substance consumed and the reasons behind this mass ingestion are currently under investigation.
Upon receiving information about a commotion at a house, senior police officers and ambulances were promptly dispatched to the scene. Initial findings suggest that some individuals had ingested an unknown substance, leading to several falling ill. Dr. Basant Kumar Ningwal, the hospital’s superintendent-in-charge, stated that while the transgender individuals claimed to have consumed phenyl, this could not be immediately confirmed. The police are awaiting the results of their investigation to ascertain the substance consumed and the motive behind the incident.
