Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana continues to dominate the Women’s ODI Batter Rankings, significantly extending her lead over England’s captain Nat-Sciver Brunt by a commanding 83 points in the latest rankings released by the ICC on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

Meanwhile, in the bowling department, India’s skilled off-spinner Deepti Sharma has made an impressive ascent, climbing to the third position overall. She now trails only England’s left-arm sensation, Sophie Ecclestone, who holds the top spot.

Mandhana’s exceptional form has been a highlight, marked by consecutive half-centuries during the ongoing World Cup. Her recent, elegant knock of 88 against England in Indore showcased her class, even though India narrowly missed victory.

Her purple patch was officially recognized when she was named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for September 2025. This prestigious award celebrated her stellar performances in the ODI series against Australia, which served as a crucial lead-up to the World Cup.

Other notable movements in the batting rankings include Australian captain Alyssa Healy, who rose to third place after smashing back-to-back centuries at the World Cup. South Africa’s in-form Tazmin Brits also entered the top 10, moving up one spot to ninth, thanks to her consistent contributions with the bat.

Further down the list, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur advanced three places to 15th, while Australia’s emerging opener Phoebe Litchfield jumped five spots to 17th. England veteran Heather Knight also saw a significant rise, moving up 15 places to 18th, all propelled by their strong batting displays in the World Cup.

On the bowling front, Deepti Sharma’s excellent run of form, securing 13 wickets in five World Cup matches, was instrumental in her three-spot climb to third overall. Australia’s Alana King also moved up two places to seventh.

Pakistan’s bowlers also made significant strides: Nashra Sundhu rose three spots to 11th, Sadia Iqbal gained five ranks to reach equal 14th, and Fatima Sana climbed five places to 24th. These impressive gains reflect their strong performances in the tournament.

Fatima Sana’s all-round abilities were also recognized as she moved up five places to 15th in the ODI all-rounders list, which is currently led by Australia’s Ash Gardner. Additionally, Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu improved her standing by one place, now sitting at seventh among all-rounders.
