In a statement shared on X, the consulate confirmed their close communication with the victim’s family, pledging “all possible assistance.” They are diligently following up with local authorities who are leading the investigation into the shooting incident.
Chandrasekhar, 28, was a Master’s student in Data Analytics at the University of North Texas, Dallas, and was working part-time at the gas station in Denton where the incident occurred. His family members confirmed the unfortunate details.
The Chief Minister of Telangana, A Revanth Reddy, also expressed his deep sorrow and support for Chandrasekhar’s family. He conveyed his profound condolences, praying for peace for the departed soul and assuring the family of the Telangana government’s full support in repatriating Chandrasekhar’s mortal remains to his hometown.
Preliminary information suggests Chandrasekhar was allegedly shot by unidentified robbers. His family was informed of the tragedy by local police. The victim was positively identified through his passport, which was with the gas station manager.
