New Delhi: India has voiced its strong condemnation of the recent terror attack targeting a synagogue in Manchester, United Kingdom. The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Thursday, characterizing the heinous act as a stark reminder of the persistent threat posed by global terrorism.
The attack, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals, involved an assailant deliberately driving a vehicle into a crowd outside the Heaton Park Synagogue before carrying out stabbings.
In its statement, New Delhi conveyed its solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom during this period of grief.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “We condemn the terror attack on the Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester, during Yom Kippur services today.” He added, “It is particularly saddening that this heinous act was committed on the International Day of Non-violence.”
Jaiswal further emphasized that the attack underscores the ongoing challenge posed by terrorism, a threat that requires unified and concerted global action to combat and overcome.
India extended its deepest condolences and offered thoughts and prayers to the victims, their families, and the city of Manchester.
