The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and leading automotive giant Hero MotoCorp have officially joined forces through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration across a broad spectrum of initiatives, including cutting-edge research, advanced education, and comprehensive employee development programs.
As part of this exciting alliance, Hero MotoCorp is committed to exploring opportunities for establishing scholarships, supporting dedicated research scholars at IIT Madras, and providing practical industry projects to its talented students. In return, IIT Madras will develop specialized degree programs, including M.Tech and PhD, specifically designed to meet the needs of Hero MotoCorp’s employees. Additionally, the institute will deliver targeted short-term courses to enhance employee skills in critical emerging fields such as electric vehicle development, battery cell technology, advanced motor and controller systems, and vehicle dynamics.
The signing ceremony was graced by key representatives from both organizations, highlighting the significance of this collaboration. Attendees included Vikram Kasbekar, Executive Director, Acting CEO, and CTO of Hero MotoCorp; Anuj Dua, Head of Global Product Planning at Hero MotoCorp; Professor V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras; and Professor Manu Santhanam, Dean (Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research) at IIT Madras.
