The Samskara Sahithi, the vibrant cultural arm of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), is gearing up to host its southern regional ‘Vichara Sadas’ – a thoughtful deliberation camp – in Alappuzha. Scheduled for October 5th and 6th at the serene Karmasadan Pastoral Centre, this two-day event promises to be a hub of intellectual exchange and cultural introspection.
The camp will kick off with an inaugural session led by K.C. Venugopal, the esteemed All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and Member of Parliament, at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. The organizers anticipate a robust participation of approximately 350 delegates, representing the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha.
A diverse array of influential personalities is slated to engage with the delegates, ensuring a rich tapestry of perspectives. Notable speakers and interactors include veteran CPI(M) leader G. Sudhakaran, Congress Member of Parliament Kodikunnil Suresh, acclaimed writer Kalpatta Narayanan, renowned scriptwriter Renji Panicker, and celebrated actor Mallika Sukumaran, among others. These interactions are designed to stimulate meaningful discussions throughout the two-day program.
The camp will draw to a close with a valedictory session on October 6th, commencing at 3 p.m., which will be inaugurated by prominent Congress leader and MLA, Ramesh Chennithala.
This regional gathering is a strategic follow-up to the State camp successfully organized by Samskara Sahithi in Charalkunnu back in August. It reflects the wing’s commitment to extending its reach and impact across Kerala.
C.R. Mahesh, MLA and chairman of Samskara Sahithi, emphasized that these camps serve as crucial platforms for in-depth discussions on a wide range of contemporary issues. Topics will span political, social, artistic, cultural, and literary domains, encouraging delegates to critically analyze and contribute to current narratives. He also highlighted the organization’s dedication to environmental responsibility, confirming that all events would strictly adhere to a ‘green protocol.’
Furthering this initiative, Samskara Sahithi plans to host similar zonal camps later this month, with events scheduled for the central zone in Ernakulam and the northern zone in Kozhikode, ensuring comprehensive engagement across the entire state.
