Hyderabad police have swiftly apprehended five individuals just two days after the brutal murder of 24-year-old Shaik Mohisin in Bandlaguda’s Ghouse Nagar. The investigation points to a chilling motive rooted in escalating rivalries between local cow-theft gangs.
The suspects, identified as Syed Sha Fahad (23, cab driver), Syed Sohail (21, auto driver), Mohammed Amer (24, auto driver), Mohammed Bin Abdullah Saif alias Mohammed Topi (32, auto driver), and Shaik Afroz (30, cab driver), are all residents of the Bandlaguda and Falaknuma areas of Hyderabad.
The tragic incident occurred on the night of October 29, and thanks to prompt police action, all five alleged perpetrators were taken into custody by November 1.
Police investigations have uncovered a complex web of animosity. It was revealed that the arrested individuals were close friends, and two of them, Fahad and Saif, harbored a long-standing grudge against rivals Riyaz and Hashmath, who were part of local cow-theft gangs. Earlier, Fahad and Saif had allegedly provided information to the police, leading to multiple arrests within these gangs and fueling intense resentment. Following their bail, the rival gang members reportedly sought revenge against Fahad and Saif.
Adding another layer to the conflict, the deceased, Shaik Mohisin, initially appeared to be helping Fahad and Saif by informing them that the gangs were hunting them. However, the accused later discovered that Mohisin was reportedly double-crossing them, actively sharing their whereabouts with their enemies. Furthermore, they suspected Mohisin of financially aiding the ‘Adil gang,’ implicated in the January 2024 murder of Fahad’s cousin, Mubarak Sigar.
Fueled by a sense of betrayal, Fahad and Saif, alongside their associates, hatched a plan to eliminate Mohisin. On the fateful night of October 29, around 9 p.m., Fahad, Sohail, and Amer confronted Mohisin outside his pan shop in Ghouse Nagar. They viciously attacked him with a sickle and knives, inflicting fatal injuries that led to his immediate death.
