N.V.S. Reddy, the current Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMRL), has been officially appointed as the urban transport advisor to the Telangana State government. This strategic decision aims to leverage his extensive experience in enhancing the state’s urban mobility initiatives.
Reddy will serve in this advisory role for a two-year term, with the specific terms and conditions of his appointment to be formally released soon. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Ahmad, the current HMDA commissioner, will assume full additional charge as the HMRL Managing Director, taking over from Reddy.
This significant appointment comes alongside several other bureaucratic changes across the state. Among them, 2013-batch officer Shruti Ojha has been assigned the role of Director for the Women and Child Welfare department, succeeding G. Srijana, who previously held the position with additional charge.
Further adjustments include Krishna Aditya, Director of Intermediate Education, receiving full additional charge as Secretary of Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions, taking over from K. Seetha Lakshmi. Additionally, Kota Sreevatsa has been appointed as HMDA Joint Metropolitan Commissioner (General) and granted full additional charge as HMDA Secretary, replacing R. Upender Reddy, who transitions to HMDA Joint Metropolitan Commissioner (Sub-Urban Region).
Changes also extend to non-cadre officers: M. Rajireddy, Joint Registrar of the Cooperative department and current General Manager of Civil Supplies Corporation, has been reassigned as Hyderabad Chief Rationing Officer, relieving Zendage Hanumant Kondiba from this additional responsibility.
Other notable transfers include Adilabad CEO G. Jitender Reddy, who now serves as TG OILFED Managing Director, replacing J. Shankaraih. Furthermore, Rajeshwar, Special Grade Deputy Collector and Housing Project Director for Karimnagar, has been appointed as Adilabad Additional Collector (Local Bodies).
Finally, T. Venkanna, a Special Grade Municipal Commissioner awaiting a new posting, has been assigned the crucial role of HMDA Joint Metropolitan Commissioner, overseeing both core urban regions and metro rail projects.
