In a decisive move to curb criminal activity, Hyderabad Commissioner C.V. Anand has issued an externment notice to a 27-year-old resident of Biriyani Shah Tekiri, Kalapathar.
The official order, dated September 13, invokes Section 26(1) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli, mandating the individual to remain outside the jurisdiction of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate for a period of one year.
The person in question, Mohd. Asad, is a notorious ‘rowdy sheeter’ (habitual offender) linked to the Kalapathar Police Station. His criminal dossier is substantial, detailing 11 cases that include serious charges such as assault, murder, attempted murder, criminal intimidation, rioting, extortion, and illegal possession of arms. Asad’s actions have reportedly instilled widespread fear among local residents, making them reluctant to provide evidence or file formal complaints against him.
The externment notice was officially served through ACP Falaknuma, granting Asad a seven-day window to comply with the directive and leave the city limits.
