Hyderabad experienced a welcome change in weather on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, as moderate afternoon showers brought a much-needed respite from the day’s bright sun. This followed earlier rainfall on Tuesday evening, marking a period of cooler conditions for the city.
While many areas across the city received these refreshing downpours, the experience wasn’t universal, with some localities remaining noticeably dry. For instance, places like A.S. Rao Nagar, Moula Ali, Safilguda, and AOC enjoyed significant spells of rain, while other parts of Secunderabad, including Marredpally, saw no precipitation.
However, the rain wasn’t without its challenges. Commuters faced typical monsoon-related issues, including minor waterlogging near the Punjagutta flyover, which inevitably slowed traffic. Similar congestion was also reported at the Ayodhya and Nirankari junctions, particularly affecting routes heading towards V.V. Statue.
Official figures from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) at 4 p.m. provided a clear picture of the varying rainfall intensity. Begumpet recorded the highest, with 31 mm, followed by Bowenpally at 16.8 mm. Tolichowki received 14.8 mm, Balanagar 14 mm, Shaikpet 7.8 mm, Srinagar Colony 7.3 mm, Maitrivanam 7 mm, Asifnagar 6.3 mm, Anandbagh 5.8 mm, and Moosapet 5.5 mm, highlighting the localized nature of the rainfall.
