Tirupati recently marked Engineer’s Day with a special ceremony: the unveiling of a magnificent bronze bust honoring the legendary Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. This significant event took place on his birth anniversary, celebrated nationwide as a tribute to engineers and their vital contributions.
The unveiling, held at the APSEB Engineer’s Association building, saw prominent figures in the power sector come together. Kalala Ranganatham and P. Gopal Reddy, both former Chairmen and Managing Directors of Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL), had the honor of revealing the statue. They were joined by the current CMD, K. Santhosh Rao, making it a truly notable occasion.
During the ceremony, Mr. Santhosh Rao delivered an inspiring address, urging the company’s engineers to embody the same unwavering determination that characterized Visvesvaraya’s remarkable career. He stressed the importance of dedication in their professional roles. Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Ranganatham, who previously served as a government advisor in the power sector, emphasized the profound impact engineers can have, stating, “What you give to society is important.” Furthermore, Mr. Gopal Reddy encouraged the engineers present to fortify their association and pursue impactful initiatives for the future.
