In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Electronics City police successfully apprehended a 34-year-old Nigerian national and his female companion. The pair was caught in possession of a substantial quantity of illicit drugs, including 490 grams of MDMA crystals and 43 grams of cocaine, with a street value estimated at ₹2.15 crore.
Acting on crucial intelligence, a police team swiftly moved in, arresting Okey Samuel, 34, and Q. Topista, 27. They were reportedly caught red-handed, awaiting clients to distribute their illegal wares.
Investigations by law enforcement revealed that the suspects acquired these narcotics from contacts residing outside the state. Their clientele primarily consisted of IT professionals and students within the city, highlighting a disturbing trend in drug distribution.
Further inquiries have brought to light that both accused entered India in 2011 and remained in the country illegally after their visas expired. Authorities are currently investigating how they managed to forge travel documents to secure accommodation, indicating a deeper network of illegal activities.
