Bengaluru’s significant Hennur-Bagalur main road white-topping project is on track for completion by the close of October. This announcement came from East Corporation Commissioner D.S. Ramesh, following a thorough review of the ongoing roadworks on Monday.
Commissioner Ramesh has mandated that all remaining construction, encompassing carriageways, footpaths, utility ducts, and electrical poles, must be finalized promptly. The newly completed sections are to be opened for traffic without any further hold-ups. This extensive white-topping effort spans a 5-kilometer stretch, reaching from the Geddalahalli Railway Line to Farhan College.
In addition to the main project, Mr. Ramesh issued a strict directive for all potholes across the city to be filled within two days. Executive Engineers are required to provide a compliance certificate verifying these remedial measures. He further emphasized that once roads are completed, no digging should occur without prior official approval and the payment of necessary restoration charges.
Commissioner Conducts On-Bike Inspection
In a separate development, Central Corporation Commissioner Rajendra Cholan undertook an inspection of roads within the Chickpet ward limits, notably doing so on a bike. His review focused on assessing ongoing pothole repair work, the general condition of the roads, and the efficiency of garbage disposal systems in the area.
