The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a significant heavy rainfall warning for nine districts across Telangana for Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Residents in these areas should prepare for potentially intense downpours.
The districts specifically under the heavy rainfall alert are Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet. Beyond these nine, the IMD’s latest bulletin indicates that all 33 districts of Telangana are likely to experience thunderstorms, which may be accompanied by lightning and strong, gusty winds.
For the capital city, Hyderabad, and its surrounding regions, the forecast for the next 24 hours points to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with occasional intense spells and gusty winds, are expected, particularly during the morning and night. Temperatures in Hyderabad are anticipated to range around 29°C for the maximum and 22°C for the minimum.
Looking at recent rainfall data, between Sunday and Monday morning (8:30 a.m.), Narayanraopet in Siddipet district recorded the highest rainfall at 24.24 cm. Other significant amounts included 10.58 cm in Tupran (Medak) and 9.62 cm in Madnur (Kamareddy). Later, from Monday 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Mudhole in Nirmal district saw the highest rainfall with 2.4 cm.
