A pall of sorrow has fallen over Kadambar, within the Manjeswaram police jurisdiction, after a young couple was tragically found deceased in what authorities suspect to be a suicide. Reports indicate that profound financial distress may have driven this heartbreaking incident.
The victims have been identified as 35-year-old Ajith, who worked in painting and polishing, and his 27-year-old wife, Shweta, a dedicated teacher at a private school near Vorkady Bakery Junction. Ajith passed away in the early hours of Monday, October 6, around 12:30 AM. His wife, Shweta, tragically succumbed to poisoning the following morning, Tuesday, October 7, at a hospital in Derlakatte, Karnataka.
Police sources have confirmed that the couple was grappling with significant financial challenges. Ajith resided with his wife and his mother, Pramila. On the day of the incident, while Pramila was at work, Ajith and Shweta took their three-year-old son to Shweta’s sister’s home in Bandiyod, requesting her to care for the child as they ‘had to go somewhere.’
Upon returning home, the couple reportedly consumed poison. Concerned locals discovered them lying unconscious in their backyard and swiftly transported them to a private hospital in Hosangady. Despite being transferred to Derlakatte due to their critical state, medical efforts to save them were unfortunately unsuccessful. The Manjeswaram police have since registered a case and launched a full investigation into the matter.
