In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded on Sunday in Udapudi, Belagavi district, a young brother and sister tragically lost their lives after slipping into a farm pond.
The victims were identified as 13-year-old Eeranna and his 11-year-old sister Guravva, children of local farmer Siddappa Sirasangi. Mr. Sirasangi filed a complaint with the Katakol Police, detailing the devastating loss.
According to the complaint, the children had ventured to a nearby farm pond belonging to Hanumant Patil, a neighboring farmer, with the intention of bathing. Tragically, they lost their footing and fell into the water. Lacking swimming skills, they were unable to save themselves and succumbed to drowning.
Authorities have since registered a case to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
