In a deeply saddening event that has shaken the Kompally community, a 17-year-old girl tragically took her own life on Thursday. The heartbreaking incident is believed to be a direct consequence of relentless harassment she endured from her paternal uncle, stemming from ongoing financial disagreements.
The teenager resided in Pochamma Gadda with her mother and younger sister. According to her mother’s complaint, following the untimely death of her husband, her brother-in-law, identified as Srinu, began persistently tormenting the family over unresolved financial matters.
The tragedy unfolded on October 2 when the girl’s mother was away from home. Discovered later, the young girl had left a note, pouring out her profound anguish. In it, she explicitly attributed her desperate decision to the relentless harassment, directly naming her uncle and his family as the source of immense stress. Her note detailed repeated confrontations and the crushing burden of loans and unresolved paperwork that followed her father’s passing.
Authorities at the Petbasheerabad police station have registered a case and launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
