HASSAN, KARNATAKA — A pall of sorrow hangs over Hassan district after two separate road accidents claimed three lives on Wednesday, September 24.
In a particularly tragic incident near Gowirkoplu on Bagur Road in Channarayapatna taluk, a husband and wife, Gavi Gowda (38) and Roopa (35), were killed when their two-wheeler was struck by a KSRTC bus. The couple was en route to Kalasinda village when the horrific collision occurred. Both suffered severe head injuries and were rushed to a government hospital in Channarayapatna, but tragically, doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. An eyewitness, Sanjay Kumar, has filed a complaint with the Channarayapatna Police, initiating an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
Another Life Lost: Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Arakalgud
The day’s grim toll continued with another fatal accident in Arakalgud taluk. Manje Gowda (30), a resident of Ganguru, was crossing the road at Mallarajapatna when he was hit by a speeding motorcycle. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His wife, Arpitha, has reported the incident to the Konanur Police, who are now probing this separate but equally devastating event.
