Karnataka’s Revenue Minister and the official in charge of Hassan district, Krishna Byre Gowda, has issued an important appeal to all devotees. He urges those planning to visit the sacred Hasanamba temple to complete their darshan before October 18th to avoid the significant weekend crowds.
With the popular festival concluding on October 23rd, a massive influx of visitors is anticipated during the final days. To ensure a smoother and more comfortable experience for everyone, the Minister released a video statement. He emphasized that an early visit would greatly assist both the temple administration and the devotees themselves.
Earlier this week, on Monday, the fourth day the temple was open to the public, hundreds of eager devotees queued up from early morning for a glimpse of the deity. The temple briefly paused public darshan between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to conduct essential rituals within the sanctum sanctorum.
Among the notable visitors on Monday were former Minister and senior JD(S) leader H.D. Revanna and his wife, Bhavani. While the district administration had arranged special transportation for VIPs from the inspection bungalow, Mr. Revanna opted to arrive in his private vehicle. Upon being halted at the entrance, he and his wife chose to walk the rest of the way and entered the temple by purchasing the special ₹1,000 entry tickets.
Demonstrating a commitment to public service, Hassan Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari personally visited the temple, joining the queue alongside regular devotees. She took the opportunity to engage with the visitors, gathering feedback and assessing the arrangements put in place by the district administration.
Looking ahead, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar are scheduled to visit the revered temple on Wednesday, October 15th.
