In a significant win against organized crime, Haryana’s Director General of Police (DGP) O.P. Singh announced on Sunday, October 26, 2025, the successful deportation of fugitive gangster Lakhvinder from the United States. This achievement marks a major success for the State’s Special Task Force (STF).
Lakhvinder, also known as Lakha, is a prominent associate of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. His deportation from the U.S. occurred on Saturday, October 25, 2025, following a collaborative operation spearheaded by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), according to official sources.
Upon his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Lakhvinder was promptly taken into custody by the Haryana Police.
DGP Singh expressed the force’s satisfaction in a Hindi post, stating, “Another cowardly, fugitive, and traitor dragged back from America by Haryana Police.” He further added that Lakhvinder was a wanted individual in numerous states for cases involving extortion and firearms.
Haryana Police confirmed that Lakhvinder is a native of Titram village in Haryana’s Kaithal district and maintains close ties with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Following the completion of all necessary legal procedures post-deportation, he was officially arrested by the STF in Ambala.
Operating from the U.S. since 2022 under the directives of gangster Anmol Bishnoi, Lakhvinder was implicated in approximately a dozen cases of extortion and shooting across Haryana and Punjab, as reported by the State police.
The State police highlighted Lakhvinder’s extensive criminal history in Haryana, including an FIR lodged on February 14, 2023, under Sections 384 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for extortion and criminal intimidation at Gohana (City) police station in Sonipat.
Another FIR with similar charges was registered against him on March 21, 2023, at the Police Station Meham, located in Rohtak district.
Furthermore, Lakhvinder faces additional FIRs related to extortion and other offenses in various other locations within the state, including Yamunanagar, Kaithal, and Ambala.
To facilitate his apprehension, STF Haryana had issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) and a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Lakhvinder in 2023 and 2024, respectively, according to the State police.
Officials stated that his lawful deportation from the U.S. was successfully carried out after nearly a year of dedicated coordination and sustained legal efforts with both national and international agencies.
STF Haryana reiterated its unwavering commitment to dismantling organized crime networks and is actively pursuing further legal avenues to identify and deport other wanted criminals who are currently operating from foreign countries.
