The Guruvayur Municipality has achieved a significant milestone, proudly receiving the Platinum Award from the State Pollution Control Board. This prestigious recognition celebrates their outstanding efforts and remarkable success in environmental protection and pollution control initiatives.
The award was officially presented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during a recent international environment conclave held at the Adlux International Convention Centre in Karukutty, Ernakulam. Accepting the honor on behalf of the municipality were municipal chairperson M. Krishnadas and vice-chairperson Anishma Shanoj.
This latest accolade further enhances Guruvayur Municipality’s already impressive collection of awards. Their previous achievements include the State government’s Aardrakeralam Award for 2023-24, recognizing their excellence in the health sector, along with the Swaraj Trophy, which they have won twice consecutively. Additionally, the municipality secured the top position in Kerala for its performance in the ‘Malinyamuktha Nava Keralam’ (Waste-Free New Kerala) project, underscoring their commitment to a cleaner, healthier environment.
