Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi recently addressed the pivotal role of India’s youth, stating unequivocally that they embody the nation’s strength and future. He powerfully called on them to cultivate a deep awareness of India’s ancient civilizational identity and its enduring values.
During his address at the Dakshinapatha Summit 2025, held at IIT Madras under the compelling theme ‘Innovate for Bharat: Lead the World,’ Governor Ravi lamented that post-Independence, India’s education system had regrettably stripped the concept of ‘Bharat as a nation’ from its curriculum. He argued that this omission bred confusion among at least two generations, as leaders immediately following independence perpetuated colonial educational frameworks, viewing India through a narrow, colonial lens.
The Governor further emphasized that while the Republic of India is relatively young at 75 years, its civilization boasts a rich heritage spanning nearly 5,000 years. He cautioned the younger generation to be vigilant against political ideologies that seek to deny India’s fundamental identity as a nation. Furthermore, he raised concerns about deliberate efforts to disseminate misinformation aimed at eroding the credibility of institutions established by the Indian Constitution.
Earlier on the same day, Governor Ravi actively participated in the ‘Run4FitBharat’ marathon, which he inaugurated near Olcott Memorial Higher Secondary School in Besant Nagar. The Raj Bhavan later shared on platform X that over 2,000 enthusiastic young people and fitness aficionados took part in this inspiring event.
