Excellent news for households and dairy enthusiasts! Heritage Foods, a prominent name in the dairy sector, is set to revise prices downwards across a variety of its products. This positive change aligns with the recent rationalization of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and is aimed at benefiting consumers, particularly as the festive season approaches.
Starting September 22, customers will notice more affordable prices on several key dairy items. For instance, the maximum retail price (MRP) for long shelf-life UHT Milk will be reduced by ₹3 per litre. It’s important to note that fresh milk prices will remain unchanged, as this category is already exempt from GST.
Significant savings are also being introduced for other popular dairy products. The MRP for ghee will see a substantial reduction of ₹50 per litre, while butter prices will similarly drop by ₹50 per kilogram. Cheese will become more accessible with its price decreasing by ₹50 per kilogram, and paneer will be ₹25 cheaper per kilogram.
Even sweet treats are included in the price cuts: a 950 ml pack of ice cream will now cost ₹35 less, and the 700 ml pack will be ₹20 cheaper. These adjustments underscore Heritage Foods’ commitment to making its high-quality dairy offerings more budget-friendly.
Brahmani Nara, the Executive Director of Heritage Foods, welcomed the GST rate rationalization, describing it as a timely and advantageous development for India’s dynamic dairy industry.
