France is eager to forge even stronger educational alliances with India’s leading institutions, a sentiment strongly voiced by Marc Lamy, the Consul General of France in Bengaluru. He emphasized that such collaborations would greatly benefit students in both nations.
These remarks were made during Mr. Lamy’s recent visit to the Centurion University of Technology and Management’s campus in Vizianagaram. During his tour, he closely observed the university’s impressive infrastructure and its advanced drone manufacturing technology. He also had the honor of inaugurating several new facilities, including the GTM Lab, a 3D printing center, a pharmacy laboratory, a wellness center, a state-of-the-art data center, a genome sequencing lab, and a breeding lab. He engaged in productive discussions with CUTM Vice President D.N. Rao, University Chancellor G.S.N. Raju, and other key academic figures. Mr. Lamy particularly commended CUTM’s strategic partnership with Dassault Systèmes, a prominent French company that has established a cutting-edge Future Nexus Lab at the Vizianagaram campus.
In an exclusive conversation during his visit, Mr. Lamy revealed that over 15 French companies have already invested in Andhra Pradesh and other Indian states. He highlighted the significant role of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and the ongoing cooperation between the Indian and French governments, expressing optimism that these investments would create numerous employment opportunities for skilled young professionals.
Dr. D.N. Rao, representing CUTM, reiterated the university’s unwavering commitment to skill and practical training programs. He explained that these initiatives are designed to equip students with diverse skill sets, aligning perfectly with the vision and guidelines of India’s National Education Policy.
The Consul General’s itinerary also included visits to the university’s innovative Smart Agriculture, Super Bee, and Sky Rider factory projects, showcasing the breadth of CUTM’s technological advancements. Other prominent attendees during the visit included University Vice-Chancellor P.K. Mohanty, Registrar P. Pallavi, and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Head M.L.N. Acharyulu.
