Poojappura police have successfully apprehended the owner of a flour mill in Vattiyurkavu, facing serious allegations of employee abuse and exploitation.
The victim, identified as Balakrishnan from Tenkasi, reportedly endured incessant physical torture and denial of wages for nearly two years at the hands of his employer, Tushanth. Trapped within the mill premises and forbidden to leave, Balakrishnan was finally rescued by vigilant local residents after an assault by Tushanth when he simply requested food.
Upon his rescue, Balakrishnan was discovered in a truly deplorable state, his body covered in deep, festering wounds and lacerations. He is currently undergoing critical treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.
Charges Filed: A Grave Offense
Following his arrest, Tushanth has been charged with non-bailable offenses, reflecting the severity of his alleged crimes. Prompt action by Thiruvananthapuram Corporation officials led to the immediate shutdown of the mill, which was found to be operating without the necessary licenses and under shockingly unsanitary conditions.
