In a distressing incident reported on September 14, a farmer from Hulanda village in Khanapur taluk, Belagavi district, Karnataka, was severely injured following an attack by a wild bear.
Vasudeva Narayana Gawade was returning from his agricultural field when the bear suddenly attacked him. He suffered grave injuries to his stomach, chest, and face.
Mr. Gawade suspects that the wild animal originated from the dense Kanakumbi forest, which lies in close proximity to the village. He has since been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, forest officials visited the injured farmer at the hospital to assess the situation and gather details about the attack.
