Get ready for a spectacular celebration of theatre as Rangayana kicks off its much-anticipated three-day Ranga Dasara festival in Kalaburagi this Saturday. This vibrant event promises a captivating lineup of performances, showcasing a rich blend of dramatic artistry.
The festival will be ceremoniously inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Fauzia Tarannum, as announced by Rangayana Director Sujata Jangamshetty during a press conference on Thursday. This year’s Ranga Dasara is set to be a memorable cultural experience for all.
The curtain rises on Saturday with a compelling performance of “Bharjari Bhagya.” This play, penned by the renowned Bheemshma Ramayya and skillfully directed by Vishwa Raj Patil, will be brought to life by the talented artists of the Vishwa Ranga Kalaburagi team.
Sunday’s highlight features “Sangya-Baalya,” a powerful drama authored by Chandrashekar Kambar and directed by B.M.S. Prabhu. The Ranga Bimba team is poised to deliver an unforgettable rendition of this classic work.
The festival will conclude on Monday with a grand valedictory address delivered by Afzalpur MLA M.Y. Patil. Esteemed activist and writer Meenakshi Bali will grace the occasion as the chief guest, adding intellectual depth to the closing ceremony.
Following the formal closing, attendees will be treated to a traditional “Bayalaata” performance. Titled “Bhima Vilas Arthath Keechak Vadhe,” this folk theatre masterpiece was authored by Sri Gurulingeshwara Maharaj. The intricate and vibrant performance will be delivered by the dedicated artists from Sri Siddarameshwara Havyasi Bayalaata Mandali Afzalpur, ensuring a truly authentic cultural experience.
