The Shilparamam cultural village in Hyderabad recently came alive with a magnificent showcase of Indian performing arts during the Lok Kala Yatra Folk Dance Festival. Artists from various corners of India converged on the stage, filling the evening air with enchanting music and captivating dance. The festival offered attendees a vibrant journey through India’s rich tapestry of regional folk traditions.
The evening commenced with a lively Kolatam performance by Telangana’s own Rajitha, setting an energetic tone. Representing Maharashtra, Ravindra Laxman Bhoye and his troupe mesmerized the audience with their intricate Songi Mukhavate. From Chhattisgarh, Anil Kumar Garhewal delivered an enthralling rendition of Ghedi Nrutya. The graceful Dongri Nrutya was beautifully presented by Nishu Panditha from Jammu, while Arashpreet Singh and his spirited group from Punjab brought an explosion of color and vigor with their powerful Bhangra.
This cultural extravaganza is a highlight of Shilparamam’s ongoing Navratri, Bathukamma, and Dasara festivities. Visitors also have the chance to explore the ‘Sarees of India Mela,’ which continues until October 5. Both the festival performances and the exhibition are open daily, welcoming guests from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
