The National Service Scheme (NSS) has officially rolled out “Jeevitholsavam 2025,” an impactful statewide program designed to empower higher secondary students and shape them into principled, active citizens within our contemporary democratic society.
This pioneering 21-day initiative is built around dynamic, challenge-based activities and meaningful reform-oriented tasks. At its heart lies a vital anti-drug awareness campaign, aiming to educate and protect young minds from substance abuse.
The grand launch event took place at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Cotton Hill, where General Education Minister V. Sivankutty formally inaugurated the program. Thiruvananthapuram MLA Antony Raju presided over the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of youth engagement. Over a thousand enthusiastic students were in attendance, treated to inspiring performances by dedicated NSS volunteers.
Key dignitaries present included NSS regional director Y.S. Uppin, NSS State programme coordinator S. Shajitha, State advisory body member Ratheesh Kaliyadan, along with school Principal V. Greeshma and headmistress G. Geetha, all underscoring the collaborative spirit behind this significant educational and social welfare effort.
