In a heartening move towards fostering self-reliance, the Teresa Club in Vizianagaram inaugurated a new tailoring course on Tuesday, offering 50 women the opportunity to acquire valuable skills. Grandhi Vishnu Murthy, president of the Teresa Club, emphasized that these tailoring abilities would empower women to generate a steady income right from their homes, paving the way for financial independence.
He proudly noted that over the past three decades, the club has already provided skill development training to more than 10,000 women, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to community upliftment.
Adding to this initiative, K.T. Kuriyakose, the visionary founder of the Club, announced that every woman who successfully completes the comprehensive tailoring course would be provided with a sewing machine, ensuring they have the essential tools to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys.
The inaugural event was well-attended by prominent community figures, including former councillors Grandhi Lakshmi and Meka Ananta Lakshmi, as well as former District Educational Officer S. Aruna Kumari, all of whom lent their support to this empowering endeavor.
