Shamshabad recently welcomed its newest Bharosa Centre on Friday, October 31st. Inaugurated by Telangana Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy, this vital facility is designed to offer all-encompassing support to women and children in distress. Operating under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, its crucial services will reach across 17 police stations within the Rajendranagar and Shamshabad areas.
Staffed by a dedicated team of trained women professionals, the Shamshabad Bharosa Centre provides a holistic range of integrated services. These include essential legal aid, medical attention, compassionate psychological counseling, and streamlined access to government compensation programs for victims, especially those protected by the POCSO Act. Its extensive reach covers police stations in Rajendranagar, Mailardevpally, Attapur, Chevella, Shabad, Moinabad, Shamshabad, RGIA, Kothur, Nandigama, Shadnagar, Kondurg, Chowdariguda, Keshampet, Amangal, Kadthal, and Talakondapally.
The centre’s operational team consists of eight members: a receptionist, a coordinator-cum-administrator, a legal counselor, two general counselors, a support person, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), and an accountant. This core team is further supported by a sub-inspector and an assistant sub-inspector, ensuring thorough supervision and efficient service delivery.
During the inauguration, DGP Reddy highlighted Bharosa Centres as vital ‘one-stop crisis support systems.’ He emphasized their role in delivering justice, protection, and emotional care all under one roof. This initiative guarantees uninterrupted support for women and children, guiding them from the initial complaint through the investigation, trial, and finally, to compensation. He also revealed plans to establish Bharosa Centres in every district across Telangana in the near future.
Originating in 2016, the Bharosa initiative by the Telangana Police Department has been a cornerstone in providing integrated aid to women and children impacted by violence or distress. This is achieved through a coordinated network of police, legal, medical, and psychological assistance. Today, Telangana proudly hosts 33 Bharosa Centres spread across 24 districts and six Police Commissionerates. These centres, managed by the Telangana police with backing from the state government and the Department of Women Development and Child Welfare, have earned national acclaim for their exemplary victim-centric approach to policing.
This new Shamshabad facility marks the third Bharosa Centre to be established within the Cyberabad Commissionerate. Its construction was generously sponsored by the Bangarutalli Foundation of the BBG Group and efficiently executed by P.V.N. Infra. Key representatives from BBG, including Director M.V. Mallikarjun Reddy, CEO Mukund Tavang, Vice-President of Bangarutalli Foundation Pawan Kumar, Sales Head P. Srinivas Rao, and team member K. Usha, attended the inauguration.
The inauguration ceremony saw a distinguished gathering of officials, including ADGP (Women Safety Wing) Charu Sinha, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, DCP (Rajendranagar) Yogesh Goutam, IPS, SP (Women Safety Wing) Shaik Saleema, Shamshabad DCP B.
