In a significant move to support the community, Principal District and Session Judge Marula Siddaradhya announced that the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), in collaboration with the Yadgir Institute of Medical Science (YIMS) and other relevant departments, is organizing a vital medical camp. This special event, scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025, aims to assess various disabilities among the public.
During a press conference held at the District Court Complex in Yadgir on Saturday, Judge Siddaradhya highlighted the camp’s primary objective: to provide essential equipment to differently-abled individuals, those with visual impairments, senior citizens, and the general public. Participants will receive thorough assessments to determine their specific disability percentage, which will then guide the distribution of appropriate assistive equipment in November.
Judge Marula Siddaradhya emphasized that many individuals within the judiciary, advocate community, and the general public live with disabilities. Recognizing this need, the DLSA has partnered with YIMS, the Department for the Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, and Health and Family Welfare to make this comprehensive health assessment camp a reality.
Crucially, the entire process, from the initial health assessment to the distribution of essential equipment such as wheelchairs and ear aids, will be provided completely free of charge. Attendees who possess a disability card issued by a competent authority are requested to bring it along with their Aadhaar card on the day of the camp.
Addressing potential concerns, Judge Siddaradhya confirmed that a second assessment camp would be organized if necessary. This ensures that no eligible person misses out on receiving the benefits, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity. He warmly encouraged all eligible members of the public to seize this valuable opportunity.
