The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officially took charge of security at the highly anticipated Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, September 22, 2025. This significant development designates the CISF as the primary aviation security agency for the new facility, which is set to become the 70th airport nationwide to operate under their expert protection.
Situated strategically on the outskirts of Delhi, the airport’s security operations will be meticulously managed by the CISF’s specialized Airport Sector (APS) and Aviation Security Group (ASG). Their comprehensive mandate includes robust perimeter and access control, thorough passenger and baggage screening, stringent terminal and landside security protocols, the strategic deployment of Quick Response Teams (QRTs), and close collaboration with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a seamless and secure environment.
During the initial phase, a dedicated contingent of 1,047 CISF personnel will be stationed at the airport, operating under the vigilant leadership of a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO). As the airport’s operational demands evolve and both passenger traffic and flight frequencies increase, the deployment strength will be progressively scaled up to meet all security requirements. Praveer Ranjan, Special Director General of Airports for CISF, affirmed their commitment, stating, “Our Aviation Security Group is prepared to implement internationally recognized procedures and multi-layered security measures to protect every passenger, crew member, and vital asset within the airport. We are dedicated to collaborating closely with the airport operator and all relevant stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of safety and security.”
