The autobiography of E.P. Jayarajan, a prominent central committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], is slated for an official launch by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur on November 3. Titled Ithaanu Ente Jeevitham, which translates to “This Is My Life,” the book is being published by Mathrubhumi Books.
This highly anticipated release follows a significant political controversy that erupted several months prior over an alleged earlier draft of the book. Back in April, a cover image and certain excerpts from a purported autobiography, then rumored to be titled Kattan Chayayum Paripuvadayum, were widely circulated by DC Books. These leaked materials quickly ignited a political storm, as they reportedly contained sharp criticisms attributed to Mr. Jayarajan aimed at the CPI(M) leadership and even described the second Pinarayi Vijayan government as “weak.”
Jayarajan Denies Earlier Version
Following the unauthorized leak, Mr. Jayarajan vehemently disavowed the circulating content, asserting that he had not authorized any such publication. He labeled the content as “fake” and the distributed materials as “baseless,” clarifying that he had never granted permission for either the book’s publication or even the creation of a cover image for it. The controversy escalated to legal action, with proceedings initiated against DC Books Publications and their division head, A.V. Sreekumar. Now, with the official launch of his authorized autobiography, “Ithaanu Ente Jeevitham,” political observers and the public in Kerala are keenly awaiting the true narrative of Mr. Jayarajan’s extensive political journey and deeply personal experiences.
