In a commendable operation, the Tunga Nagar Police department in Shivamogga has successfully apprehended an individual connected to a recent theft. Authorities confirmed the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen cash and valuables, collectively valued at over ₹35 lakh, following the arrest.
Shivamogga’s Superintendent of Police, G.K. Mithun Kumar, revealed the details of the arrest in a press statement released on Wednesday. The arrested individual has been identified as Ashraf Ulla, a 35-year-old autorickshaw driver residing in the Gopala area of Shivamogga. Ulla was taken into custody by the Tunga Nagar Police on Tuesday in connection with a house burglary reported on September 17 at Gopala Gowda Extension.
The diligent investigative efforts led by Tunga Nagar Police Inspector K.T. Gururaj and his dedicated team, under the supervision of senior officers, bore fruit. Upon Ulla’s arrest, they successfully seized ₹22.74 lakh in cash and additional valuables estimated at over ₹12.35 lakh.
Superintendent Kumar extended his sincere appreciation to the entire police team for their exceptional work and successful resolution of the case.
