Dr. Ajay Singh, Chairperson of the Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB), has vociferously condemned the recent barrage of abusive remarks and threatening communications directed at Minister Priyank Kharge and his family. The issue pertains to the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and IT-BT.
Speaking on October 16, Dr. Singh highlighted the enduring, decades-long bond between the families of Mallikarjun Kharge and the late Dharam Singh. He stated, “We have always considered ourselves one family. Any insult aimed at the Kharge family is, therefore, an insult to our own.”
He expressed strong disapproval of the escalating trend of personal attacks in public life. Dr. Singh lamented that instead of engaging in constructive, issue-based debates, some individuals have resorted to vulgar and disrespectful language. He stressed that “Such behavior is unacceptable and must be universally condemned.”
Dr. Singh further remarked that those who dismiss the principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and provoke Ambedkarite communities with hateful rhetoric have already been decisively rejected by the populace, who have demonstrated overwhelming support for the Congress party. “Our heritage is rooted in the philosophies of Buddha, Basava, and Ambedkar. We are no strangers to struggle. However, it is crucial that public discourse maintains a tone of civility and mutual respect,” he asserted.
He concluded by describing the threats and obscene comments made against Minister Priyank Kharge’s mother and family as “profoundly disgraceful,” indicating that those responsible have “completely lost their moral compass, their social sensitivity, and their respect for basic human dignity.”
