Bengaluru’s J.C. Nagar Police have made a significant breakthrough, apprehending a 24-year-old domestic worker in connection with a major theft. Authorities successfully recovered gold and diamond jewelry estimated to be worth a staggering ₹35 lakh, all stolen from his employer’s residence.
The individual arrested has been identified as Sachin Sonakar, hailing from Newada village in Uttar Pradesh. He had been employed as a domestic helper at a prominent city businessman’s home for approximately five months prior to the incident.
Following just a few days of service, Sonakar abruptly returned to his hometown, claiming his father was unwell. The family only discovered the theft when they later checked their lockers and realized the valuable ornaments were gone.
Prompted by the family’s complaint and their suspicion of Sonakar, a dedicated police team traveled to Uttar Pradesh. There, they successfully arrested him and recovered the stolen gold items, which he had already sold to a local jeweler. Interestingly, he was unable to sell the diamond jewelry, which he had ingeniously buried in his backyard – these too were successfully retrieved by the police.
