Dharwad Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, Bhuvanesh Patil, has issued a firm directive to all supervisors involved in the crucial Social and Educational Survey. His message is clear: eliminate all delays and ensure the survey’s timely completion.
During a review meeting held in Hubballi on Friday, Mr. Patil underscored the urgent necessity for supervisors to guarantee that daily targets are met and that the entire survey process is expedited. He highlighted that despite the survey commencing on September 22, less than 50% of the allocated work has been finished by the enumerators.
“It is imperative that everyone fully grasps their responsibilities and accelerates the survey work,” Patil stated, emphasizing the critical juncture the project has reached. However, he also issued a stern warning against the temptation to rush and input incorrect information.
“Should any instance of false information be discovered, the responsible supervisor will face immediate suspension,” he declared. Patil stressed that achieving the target within the stipulated timeframe is paramount, but equally important is the ability to respectfully persuade residents who might initially decline to provide information.
Supervisors are expected to ensure the completion of surveys for at least 300 to 400 households daily. Should there be a need for additional enumerators, this must be promptly communicated to higher authorities.
Adding to the urgency, Municipal Commissioner Rudresh Ghali pointed out that with schools set to reopen on October 8, the survey must ideally conclude by October 7. He also highlighted the importance of accurately identifying and reporting vacant houses and residences occupied by individuals from other states.
The meeting saw the presence of other key officials, including IAS Probationary officer Ritika Verma, District Officer of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Bhanumati H., Hubballi urban tahsildar Mahesh Gaste, and taluk panchayat executive officer Ramachandra Hosamani.
