A profound tragedy unfolded near the Bolarum Bazar railway station in Hyderabad during the early hours of Saturday, as two young men lost their lives and a third sustained severe injuries after being struck by the Tirupati–Akola Express. The incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. when the trio was attempting to cross the railway tracks at kilometer marker 608/20.
The victims who tragically succumbed to their injuries on the spot were identified as 19-year-old Kondagala Karthik, a daily wage worker residing in Karkhana, Medchal–Malkajgiri district, and 20-year-old Tanguturi Mallikarjun, also a worker, from West Marredpally, Secunderabad. The third individual, 35-year-old Shivanand, a fisherman from Bollaram, was rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention.
Officials from the Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) confirmed that the three individuals were hit by train number 07605, which resulted in them being thrown clear of the tracks. “Two of the victims died instantly at the scene, while the third was immediately transported to a nearby hospital,” stated a GRP officer.
Following the harrowing event, Government Railway Police personnel promptly arrived at the site to assess the situation. The bodies of the deceased were subsequently moved for post-mortem examination, and a formal case has been registered as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident continues.
