Delhi is about to get its own unique identity! Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the capital city will unveil its first-ever official logo on November 1, celebrated as Delhi Day. This significant milestone marks a new chapter for the national capital, establishing a distinct emblem that reflects its vibrant culture and ongoing development.
A dedicated committee, spearheaded by the Chief Minister herself, convened to meticulously review the submissions received from a nationwide logo design competition. This rigorous selection process involved evaluating over 1,800 entries, ensuring that the chosen design truly represents Delhi’s character.
The meeting saw the presence of key officials, including Cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma, and other senior government representatives. Together, they deliberated on the shortlisted designs, aiming to find a logo that embodies harmony between tradition and progress.
Chief Minister Gupta highlighted that this official logo will be instrumental in showcasing Delhi’s distinct identity, emphasizing its modern, transparent, and people-centric approach to governance. It is intended to serve as a powerful brand symbol, representing democratic values, technological advancements, and active civic participation.
Delhi, unlike many other states, has historically lacked an official logo to represent its identity. Recognizing this, the government initiated the design process shortly after taking office. The competition, hosted on the mygov.in portal, generated a substantial number of entries from across the country.
“It is a privilege for my government to have the opportunity to select Delhi’s official logo,” stated Chief Minister Gupta. “This logo will establish the unique identity of the capital as a new emblem.” The final design, once approved, will be formally released on November 1 and will become the permanent symbol of India’s capital.
