The bustling streets of New Delhi recently witnessed a dramatic police operation resulting in the capture of two alleged contract killers. These individuals, identified as Rahul and Sahil from Haryana, were reportedly hired by the notorious Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virender Charan gang with a chilling mandate: to eliminate the popular stand-up comedian, Munawar Faruqui.
According to police sources, the arrests followed a tense gunfight on the Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Investigators revealed that Rahul and Sahil were operating under direct orders from the foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara, who is known for his connections with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan. Their mission involved extensive planning, including reconnaissance trips to Mumbai and Bengaluru, where they meticulously tracked Mr. Faruqui’s movements.
This attempted assassination plot comes after Mr. Faruqui’s rise to prominence, particularly following his victory on the reality show “Bigg Boss” in 2024. He commands a significant online presence, boasting 14.2 million followers on Instagram.
Further details indicate that one of the arrested individuals, Rahul, sustained a gunshot wound during the encounter and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment. He was also a wanted man in connection with a triple murder case that occurred in Yamunanagar, Haryana, in December 2024. Authorities successfully seized firearms used in the gunfight, along with a motorcycle belonging to the suspects.
The revelation of such a serious threat against a public figure highlights ongoing concerns about celebrity security and the far-reaching influence of organized crime networks.
