A bizarre plot unfolded in Delhi where a 20-year-old woman, aided by her father, staged a fake acid attack. This elaborate deception was allegedly carried out to frame three men with whom the father had existing conflicts. The motive for this fabricated incident has been linked to a rape and blackmail complaint filed by the wife of one of the accused men against the father, just two days prior to the supposed acid assault.
Initially, the man accused by the woman was arrested based on her allegations. However, the investigation took a dramatic turn when CCTV footage emerged, directly contradicting the woman’s account. Further investigation revealed that the father, Aqeel Khan, has admitted to staging the entire event. He confessed to using a toilet cleaner from his home to inflict injuries on his daughter, creating the illusion of an acid attack.
A Calculated Act of Revenge
The police have uncovered that the fabricated attack was part of a larger conspiracy aimed at protecting the father from legal repercussions. According to Special CP Law & Order, Ravindra Singh Yadav, the accused father also confessed to raping the wife of one of the men he sought to frame. This revelation adds a disturbing layer to the motive, suggesting a complex web of personal vendettas.
Evidence Contradicts the Claims
The woman’s narrative quickly unraveled as inconsistencies emerged. The man she accused of stalking her, a painter by profession, voluntarily appeared at the police station. His alibi was corroborated by mobile phone CDR analysis, CCTV footage, and witness statements. Crucially, the motorcycle mentioned in the complaint was also found elsewhere during the time of the alleged incident, further casting doubt on the victim’s story.
The Rape Complaint’s Role
The investigation revealed a significant connection between the acid attack hoax and a prior rape complaint. The wife of the man accused in the acid attack lodged a complaint accusing the father of rape and blackmail. She claimed that he had assaulted her and threatened her with private photos during her employment at his factory between 2021 and 2024. The accused father had evaded police questioning by sending his lawyer and an Islamic preacher, leading to his eventual arrest.
Alibis and Disputes
Adding to the complexity, the two other men accused in the acid attack case had solid alibis, being in Agra with their mother at the time of the incident. Police also noted that the wife of the man accused of acid attack had herself been a victim of an acid attack in 2018 and was currently involved in a property dispute, though her exact connection to the current case is still being examined.
CCTV Footage Undermines the Narrative
Further evidence against the staged attack came from CCTV footage. It showed the woman leaving her residence with her brother, who then dropped her off to take an e-rickshaw. None of the three men she accused were seen in any of the relevant footage. The police are also investigating why her brother did not drop her directly at the college gate and his lack of cooperation with the investigation.
The father-daughter duo’s intricate plan, motivated by revenge and an attempt to obstruct justice, has been uncovered, leading to their arrest on charges of sexual harassment and blackmail.
