In a deeply disturbing event that has sent ripples of grief and anger through the city, a five-year-old boy was kidnapped and subsequently murdered in Delhi’s Narela area on Tuesday. The brutal crime, which involved the use of bricks and a knife, is believed by police to be an act of revenge, with the prime suspect being a driver employed by the victim’s father.
Authorities discovered the child’s body at the rented residence of the accused, identified as Nitu, who is currently on the run. Police have launched an intensive search operation, forming multiple teams to apprehend the absconding driver. Investigations revealed that Nitu had been reprimanded by the victim’s father just a day prior to the heinous crime.
The incident came to light when a missing child report was filed at the Narela Industrial Area police station. The child was reportedly playing outside his home when he disappeared. A frantic search by family and neighbours unfortunately led to the grim discovery of his body in Nitu’s rented room.
Preliminary findings indicate that the boy’s father, who operates a transport business with several vehicles, had recently had a heated argument with his drivers, Nitu and Wasim, while they were under the influence of alcohol. Following this altercation, the father intervened and physically disciplined Nitu for his misbehavior, an act that police believe may have fueled the motive for the horrific revenge killing.
Following the discovery, the child was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An FIR has been registered, and law enforcement is utilizing technical surveillance and local intelligence to track down the accused. CCTV footage is also being reviewed to piece together the events and aid in the arrest of the driver.
