A ground handling bus, operated by Air India SATS, suddenly burst into flames at Terminal 3 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Tuesday morning, October 28, 2025. This alarming incident occurred dangerously close to a parked aircraft, prompting an immediate emergency response.
Thankfully, the bus was empty at the time of the fire, carrying no passengers or luggage, as confirmed by airport police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI) Vichitra Veer stated that only the driver was present when the blaze ignited.
The fire was reported to the IGI Airport Police Station around 1 p.m. Swift action followed, with fire tenders, local police, and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel quickly arriving at the scene. Their rapid response ensured the fire was brought under control promptly, and fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
