Former MP D.K. Suresh recently commented on the possibility of his brother, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, becoming the Chief Minister. Suresh emphasized that if it is his brother’s destiny, he will undoubtedly ascend to the top post.
“If destiny truly has it planned for him, then he will become the Chief Minister. Otherwise, it simply won’t happen. Why should we overly concern ourselves with it? He will, however, continue his role as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, aligning with the wishes of the party high command,” Suresh explained.
Focus on Rajyotsava
Suresh, who also chairs the Bengaluru Milk Union (Bamul), dismissed rumors of a “November Revolution” in state politics—a notion promoted by the Opposition suggesting an imminent leadership change. He humorously stated that for him, November is primarily a time to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava.
“Let’s focus on celebrating this important festival together. Regarding other political matters, I’m not privy to those details. Such questions should be directed to the party president, the Chief Minister, and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) leadership,” he added.
Addressing inquiries about Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s intent to contest the 2028 elections, the Congress leader pointed out that even much older politicians have successfully run for office.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Siddaramaiah participating in the upcoming Assembly elections. We are fully prepared to contest the next election with him at the helm,” Suresh affirmed.
When questioned about whether the ongoing speculation about a leadership change was impacting the state’s administration, he demurred, saying, “I have no direct experience in governance. My role has primarily been as a Member of Parliament.”
