In a significant operation underscoring heightened vigilance during the festive season, the Border Security Force (BSF) announced on Sunday, October 19, 2025, the apprehension of 21 individuals suspected of illegal immigration across two districts of Tripura. Among those detained were 10 Rohingya migrants.
Acting on precise intelligence, BSF teams, in close coordination with the State police and Government Railway Police, identified suspicious activity involving 11 individuals at Agartala Railway Station in West Tripura district. These individuals were confirmed to be Bangladeshi nationals who had illegally entered India and were attempting to travel further into various parts of the country.
Separately, in North Tripura district, BSF personnel intercepted 10 Rohingya migrants, including women and children. This group was attempting to illegally cross into Bangladesh. During their interrogation, the Rohingya individuals disclosed that they had traveled from as far as Delhi and Jammu, with the intention of reaching Moulvibazar in Bangladesh.
Officials emphasized that these successful operations serve as a clear demonstration of the BSF’s robust alertness and dedication to curbing infiltration, preventing human trafficking, and combating other cross-border criminal activities, particularly during periods of increased public movement and festive celebrations.
